3C-REN has partnered with ConSol to provide no-cost HERS and EPA 608 certifications to those who reside or work within the counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura and who do not receive SoCalGas services.

HERS Rater Training
Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Raters are special inspectors trained to perform the energy efficiency field verification and diagnostic testing required by California Energy Code (Title 24).
EPA 608 Certification
EPA 608 certification is required for technicians who handle refrigerants, ensuring safe handling practices and compliance with environmental regulations. EPA 608 certification has four types:
- Type I – servicing small appliances
- Type II – servicing high pressure appliances
- Type III – servicing low-pressure appliances
- Universal – servicing all three type
