Event Description
This course explores best practices for zoning with heat pumps, covering both ducted and ductless multi-zone strategies. Participants will learn about common challenges, static pressure issues, system inefficiencies, and real-world solutions to improve performance. A field-monitored case study will provide insight into zoning of a fully communicating ducted heat pump system. Attendees will come away prepared to avoid pitfalls of poorly designed zoning solutions and also ready to impress their residential clients with best-in-class comfort.
Learning Objectives
- Define zoning and explain why it’s used for heat pump applications.
- Describe why energy consumption may increase in some zoned configurations.
- Understand why fully communicating ducted heat pumps require manufacturer-compatible zoning solutions.
