Carbon Reduction through Building Electrification – Part 1: All Electric Design & Construction Series
On the path to Zero Net Carbon Design, building electrification is the key to reducing operational carbon. In this course, we’ll share the nuts and bolts of incorporating all-electric systems into residential and small commercial projects, including tips for implementation as well as client communication.
2022 CalGreen Codes for Residential and Non-Residential
This course focuses on Title 24, Part 11, the California Green Building Standards. We’ll review background of the code, the logistics of implementation and the specific requirements for residential and non-residential construction.
Detailing for High Performance Roofs and Walls
We know the concepts behind providing a great building envelope – air tight and well-insulated– but how, exactly, do we do that? In this course, we’ll provide ‘sketch-level’ details of high-performance wall and roof assemblies that designers and builders can use as an outline to develop their own project-specific details.
Central Coast and Ventura ICC Chapter Series – CalGreen Overview and 2022 Changes
Developed for Central Coast and Ventura Region International Code Council (ICC) Members, this course provides an overview of the California Green Building Standards (CalGreen) and will review changes in the 2022 code. We’ll provide examples of implementation and highlight key strategies for a smooth plan review and acceptance process.
Addressing the Energy Water Nexus: Zero Net Carbon Design Series
The Zero Net Carbon Design (ZNCD) Series, will begin with the background and an overview of carbon in the building industry, then focus content on energy performance and renewable energy, water-savings as energy-savings, embodied carbon, and finally regenerative design.
Acceptance Testing and Commissioning for Nonresidential
This course focuses on Commissioning as required by Title 24, Part 11, and Acceptance Testing as required by Title 24, Part 6. We’ll review background of the code, the logistics of implementation and the specific requirements for non-residential construction.
Zero Net Carbon Design Series – Class 1: Targeting Zero Net Carbon Design
How do we move beyond “zero net energy” to a true zero net carbon? This course provides an overview of carbon’s role in the building industry, the key drivers for targeting reductions, and an overall approach to evaluating both embodied and operational carbon.
Introduction to the Energy Code: ICC Chapter Series
Developed for Central Coast and Ventura Region International Code Council (ICC) Members, this course provides an overview of the California Energy Code, Title 24 Part 6, including the historic context, organization, resources and overall goals for this current code cycle. Serving as a refresher for code officials, building safety, and builders who will be participating in 2022 energy code classes, or as an introduction for those entering the building industry, this course will provide a strong foundation for design, permitting and compliance.
CALGreen Codes for Residential and Non-Residential
This course focuses on Title 24, Part 11, the California Green Building Standards. We’ll review background of the code, the logistics of implementation and the specific requirements for residential and non-residential construction.
2022 Energy Code: Single Family
Updates to the 2022 Energy Code for the Building Industry: This series of 5 courses provides an overview of the 2022 Title 24 Energy Code changes, with a focus on architects, builders and others in the construction industry. We’ll provide examples of implementation and highlight key strategies for a smooth plan review and acceptance process. Attend all five or focus on your industry sector.
