What Energy Consultants Need To Know About QII

Quality Insulation Installation (QII) is a process for verifying that a home’s thermal envelope is properly sealed and insulated. Without this verification, insulation is assumed to be poorly installed and it is significantly de-rated. In the 2019 energy code, QII is now a prescriptive measure. To pass QII requires a lot of planning and coordination between the energy consultant, HERS rater, installer, and the general contractor/builder. This session will discuss how energy consultants can play a major role in making sure that the house passes QII without any problems.

Audience: Public and private building sector professionals. HVAC specialists, energy consultants, HERS raters, building department staff, architects and designers, contractors, installers, builders, and other related fields.
