SUMMARY:What Energy Consultants Need To Know About QII (Rescheduled)
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\nDescription: Quality Insulation Installation (QII) is a process for verifying that a home's thermal envelope is properly sealed and insulated. Without this verification\, insulation is assumed to be poorly installed and it is significantly de-rated. In the 2019 energy code\, QII is now a prescriptive measure. To pass QII requires a lot of planning and coordination between the energy consultant\, HERS rater\, installer\, and the general contractor/builder. This session will discuss how energy consultants can play a major role in making sure that the house passes QII without any problems. \n \nAudience: Public and private building sector professionals. HVAC specialists\, energy consultants\, HERS raters\, building department staff\, architects and designers\, contractors\, installers\, builders\, and other related fields. \n \nInstructor: Russ King\, Senior Director of Technical Services\, CalCERTS\, Inc. \n\nAs a licensed mechanical engineer with 25 years of experience in HVAC design\, energy codes\, energy ratings\, building science\, and training\, Russ works with the CalCERTS Team to ensure the technical accuracy of our curriculum and registry processes.

SUMMARY:Easing the Non-Residential Plan Check: Energy Code and Commissioning
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\nDescription:  \nWe’ll go through the top ten areas that frequently snag a plan review for non-residential energy code compliance\, and discuss how to get it right the first time. \nWhether you’re an applicant or a plan checker\, you’ll want to know what to look for\, how to avoid common mistakes and how to make sure you have accurate compliance forms. \nDiscussion will include building commissioning (Cx)\, a process to ensure that non-residential buildings perform and operate as designed.
