Description:
This class will cover the various Home Energy Rating System (HERS) tests that can modeled using the California energy code’s “performance” approach, commonly used in new constructions and additions. Before any energy consultant signs off on a project and hopes for the best, they need to know about the resulting impacts on the builders and subcontractors in the field. Some HERS measures are easy to pass, while some can be very difficult to pass if not well-planned and coordinated with the project team. This course will help energy consultants prepare a project to pass HERS tests and set-up the whole project team for success.
Audience:
- Energy consultants
- HERS raters
- Building department staff
- Architects and designers
- Contractors, installers, and builders
- HVAC specialists
- and other related fields
