Retrofitting existing buildings is a central component of the climate action plans of virtually every city in North America. This course will emphasize selecting appropriate energy conservation measures and phasing these measures overtime, while the building is occupied.
Topics covered: Passive House EnerPHit, roof insulation, airtightness measures, EIFS and sheathing at exterior or rain screen system, PH certified windows, heating + cooling, VRF’s, high performance ventilation, ERV’s, lighting and more. Learn multiple strategies to meet the Passive House EnerPHit criteria.

Training qualified professionals is an essential prerequisite for successful Passive House construction. Basic training can be toward becoming a Certified Passive House Designer, Consultant or a Certified Tradesperson.
Audience: This course is suitable for beginners and is geared toward City Planners, Inspectors, Architects, Engineers and all Building Professionals.
